Torrevieja

A thriving fishing and resort town about 6 miles away and boasts a variety of shops, an indoor daily fruit/ vegetable market, an evening market along the promenade, and a weekly street market (Friday 9 am to 1 pm). For the children there is a funfair during the main holiday periods, and the Aquopolis waterpark. There is an excellent range of restaurants and bars to suit all pockets and tastes. The tourist information office is situated opposite the promenade, along from the Deutsche Bank.

When you tire of the beaches, explore some of the surrounding towns, Cartagena is a naval port, Murcia and Orihuela are inland towns not greatly disturbed by tourism. Archena and Fortuna boast health spas and mineral hot springs where you can bathe in temperatures of over 30ºC.

The famous Terra Mitica themepark is at Benidorm, just under two hours drive away.

The Spanish seem to love street markets, each town has one and it is a good place to buy fresh fruit and vegetables.

Information on the markets and places to visit is supplied in the house.
